The Fishermen of Elmina

Every day in Elmina, Ghana, the locals gather in their hoards at 1 o’clock to welcome the fishermen back from the sea. They stand on the makeshift bridge cheering, waving flags of all different nationalities as the boats come by and shout welcome (“Akwaaba”) to the men returning with fish. Every day they do this; they welcome the working men home.
