                  Alain: Please introduce yourself.

Vanessa: Mambo, my name is Vanessa Mdee, my mother calls me Hau which is short for Khausa my friends call me V.I am from Arusha, Tanzania and I am an MTV VJ, ChoiceFM DJ, a youth activist and a recording artist.
Alain: You work for MTV and Choice FM. How did you get into broadcasting?
Vanessa: I won a nationwide VJ search in 2007 and  that's how I started working for MTV. In 2009 I was asked to join the eclectic group of hosts that make up Dar Es Salaam's better music mix 102.5 Choice FM. That's it in a nutshell.Alain: What is your best achievement so far? 
Vanessa: I don't think i've achieved my best yet but I was blessed with the opportunity to join 6 other youth activists in Robben Island with Desmond Tutu as he handed over the prevention baton to the young people of the world. We made the NY Times' cover for that. I've hosted young Africans from the continent and the diaspora as they sat down with influential leaders and I launched an awareness blog Launching my web series " Vee Worldwide ' under my own production company has been a high point aswell, you can checkit out here I've danced in the streets of Salvador, Bahia - Brasil at the carnival. I've interviewed the legendary Chuck D, I've been awarded by the UN -YPA as an African Young Achiever, I've had Andre Harrell approve of my music on twitter. I've dined with the Princess of Norway in France, I gave away the Song of the year award at the MTV AFRICA MUSIC AWARDS in 2009, hosted all the red carpets at the MTV AFRICA MUSIC AWARDS, dined with the President, attended a private movie screening with Tyler Perry and the cast of Red Tails ... just to mention a few.
Alain: Who has inspired you?
Vanessa: My mother, cliche but TRUE. And all the African dreamers I've been blessed to meet.
Alain: What are your future plans?
Alain: Well said, thanks.
