Tanzania wins Africa's natural wonders vote.

TANZANIA will be home to at least one of the seven natural wonders of Africa after emerging among the winners in voting that was concluded on December 31.
A statement issued by the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) said that with the results Tanzania should expect to have at least more than just one wonder of nature included.The statement quoted the TTB Managing Director, Dr Aloyce Nzuki, as saying that he was informed by Seven Natural Wonders, a US based organisation, of the initial results and confirmed that Tanzania was among the winners.
Seven Natural Wonders has been conducting a campaign since 2008 to determine the seven natural wonders of Africa.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and other experts from around the world cast their votes based on statistical and traditional significance along with uniqueness and splendour.
According to the statement, the declaration announcement will be held on February 11 this year in Arusha and dignitaries from various African countries and international and local media will be invited to attend and discover which wonders from Africa in general and Tanzania in particular are included.
