Did You Know

In the Sahara Desert, the Tree of Ténéré was the most isolated tree on Earth the only one for over 400 kilometres (250 mi). It was a landmark on caravan routes through the Ténéré region of the Sahara in northeast Niger, until 1973, a drunk Libyan truck driver crashed into it.
It has been replaced by a Metal structure while the actual tree lies in a museum in Niger National Musuem in Niamey.
