Few years ago when I was still in highschool Tyra Banks had a show about people with albinism and into the show, there was a discussion about the killings of people with albinism happening in Tanzania. This was the first time I heard about these atrocities happening in my country and the stories never left my mind.
When I decided to contest in my national pageant last year, at one of the regional contests(Miss Sinza), I was asked "what is the saddest story you have ever heard in your life" and without a doubt it was the stories I had heard a few years ago about the suffering, discrimination people with albinism go through in my country all because of their skin and the brutal killings for their body parts
